5 Books Every Student should read That will change your life

5 Books Every Student should read That will change your life

"The man who does not read has no advantage over the man who can't read." - MARK TWAIN. In this post  I'm going to cover the five books that are going to help transform you from an average procrastinating student letting your potential die with you to the A-star, exceptional student that has mastered studying, that has mastered discipline and good habits.

And it doesn't matter what age you are, or which type of student you are Whether you're in school, college, university or you're just a lifelong learner. These books are going to help you no matter where you are. And these books have been picked to help you with the common problems you all face that we see in the comments of the blog procrastination, laziness, low energy, distractions.

These books are going to help you no matter where you are. And  So how do you become productive, and what are the books that are going to help you to stop that laziness and activate and unleash that potential inside you?

Here we go with top 5 books

 1. Mastery by George Leonard

This is a book that is going to draw on Zen philosophy and help you with the lessons from Martial Arts to understand what is the journey going to be like? The journey of Mastery, what does it look like? Because when you understand the path that you are going to be walking You're able to navigate the pitfalls, you're able to escape the traps that 90% of the other people are going to fall into. So that your path immediately becomes easier. You must read this book.

2.  Atomic Habits - James Clear

The second book is relatively new and it's by James Clear. He presents an easy and proven way to build effective, good habits with the least amount of effort and the highest amount of reward. And one of the key principles that James Clear talks about is you need to find out what your minimum viable habit is. And that means when you're trying to create a habit of waking up early and studying in the morning don't try to do the most complex things first. Instead, think about what the simplest starting point could be what is the minimum viable habit? What is something that is so easy to do, you could do it in just two minutes? And then from there keep increasing it, keep graduating those habits just like you graduate in the classroom. Until you go from two push-ups a day to a thousand.

3. The Secret To Success

The next book is one by the motivational master Eric Thomas The book is The Secret To Success It's a short book, it's a straight to-the-point book. It's punchy, it's motivating. It's everything that you would expect from ut and it's going to help you to understand one; the journey that Eric Thomas took to go from a high school dropout to an internationally renowned best-selling author. But it's also going to help you to understand the steps and principles that Eric used to become the person that he is today.

4. Big Magic

The next book is one called Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. Now we all know being a student on the surface seems easy but in practice can be difficult.   When you're sat there in the library and you're flicking through your phone one extra time looking at Instagram or any other social media. How do you stay focused and how do you stay creative? Well in this book Elizabeth Gilbert goes through the process of how fear and creativity work and how the two of them influence your work.

5. The War of Art by Steven Pressfield

In this book he talks about the difference between the amateur the part-time player who shows up when they feel like it which some of you are The part-time player. You revise when you feel like it. You give a 110% when you feel like it. You put your hand up in class when you feel like it. And in between the amateur and what Steven Pressfield calls the pro is resistance. Now you can use the word resistance, you can use the word procrastination you can use the word distraction but it all references the same obstacle. But how do we get past that?

These books are going to help you to do exactly that. Let's think about why should you even read in the first place? Why is it something that is going to help you?
I hope you will read some books and gain something. So go and read.

How to Concentrate on studies for long hours ?

How to Concentrate on studies for long hours ?

what if I gave you three simple tips that will help you increase your concentration on studies for long hours and what if I told you that this one single activity of being able to focus will single-handedly take you to the path of success that working today we're talking about how to increase your focus and concentration on your studies for long hours.

How to Concentrate on studies for long hours ? :So today's post is on how to focus and concentrate on your studies for long hours and in this I will give you three tips and I will also give you three bonus tips so keep reading but before that let's look at the real problem .let me tell you a secret people that are successful don't feel any of these problems but the question is how do we become.

Tip 1: PROGRAMMING

tip number one is called programming now imagine you're driving in a car down this beautiful mountainous track now what if you're sitting in the back seat of the car chances are initially you're going to be looking out to see what's the scenery or you're going to be looking in front to see that can I keep track of the route but after some time I guarantee you you're gonna get bored and you're gonna either start looking at your phone or you're gonna fall off to sleep or you're going to be asking the driver how long is this going to take now just imagine that you are in the driver's seat now no matter how many distractions are there how much you feel hunger thirst or your phone is ringing you're going to cut out everything and focus entirely on every oncoming vehicle and hairpin Bend now why such a big difference the question is in our lives are we in the driver's seat or is someone else driving our vehicle are we taking charge or are we blaming someone else from our problems now our brain is a super power control it before it rules you distraction and direction are inversely proportional when one goes up the other one comes down now the reason I call this programming is because every day you think it's easy but every day when you wake up chances are you're gonna slip right back into your old way of thinking and which is why each morning when you wake up ask yourself am I in the driver's seat of my life have I taken responsibility for everything that happens to me today and soon it's going to become a habit how to increase your focus and concentration.

Tip 2: PRACTICE

tip number two it's called practice now no one ever taught you how to concentrate your parents just tell you concentrate karo but no one tells us how to do it now attention is a muscle and just like every other muscle in the body it requires training. Malcolm Gladwell said that in order to become an expert at something you need to spend 10,000 hours learning it now guess what happens to us every day we spend about 15 to 16 hours being distracted we're talking to someone we're checking the phone we're reading a book with checking our laptop and guess what you're becoming an expert at at distraction so today I'm going to teach you something that you will follow initially just for 10 minutes in your day and eventually you're going to become a master at your own focus and concentration today take out 10 minutes of time where you can be alone and comfortable in a room and which is a room that you enjoy studying in now finish all your eating and drinking before you go into that room and keep your phone and laptop outside since this is your first training session we're going to start with your favorite subject so take one textbook don't take five six seven textbooks remember we're only talking about ten minutes take one textbook one notebook a couple of pens if you like colored pens and take one extra sheet of paper which we're going to use as a distraction sheet take a timer with you and when you think you're ready to begin switch on the timer now pick up your textbook and read actively read aloud shut the book ask yourself some questions maybe you want to make some notes try to see if you can remember what you've studied highlight underline and you're going to find that suddenly something pops into your head saying hey you need to call somebody or you need to respond to somebody's message now whatever distracting thoughts get into your head put all of that down on this sheet that's lying to your side come back and study write down the thought come back instead and towards the end of ten minutes just shut the books switch off the timer close everything and walk away from that room and like all exercise the first day is usually a bit unusual but it's possible that what you've accomplished in this ten minutes is as deep as what you would have accomplished in a whole hour we try to increase the number of these slots that you take don't be in a hurry to increase the length of the slot there are only three rules that you need to follow to make this activity a success rule number one every time a distracting thought enters your mind write it down on that distraction sheet lying on the side rule number 2 every time you think you're totally losing concentration switch it off close your books and move out don't worry about the timer and rule number three never never never get your phone into this space this is a sacred space where you always focus the moment you allow the distraction into the space you pollute the space when you follow these three golden rules you will be able to sit for at least about 45 minutes and concentrate with full focus and to keep your mind sharp and focused we also need to have a healthy body so here are the three things you need to look at one is your diet eat a diet of healthy food drink a lot of water cut down on sugars because that makes us sleepy second is sleep sleep is brain food it's not only brain food it is super food for the brain so if you can get about seven to seven and a half hours of sleep every night you're going to actually increase the ability of the brain to focus and concentrate and the third thing you need to look at is exercise a good exercise routine increases the blood circulation and carries oxygen to the brain to help us focus and concentrate and there's one more little practice session that you need to do every single day it's called mindfulness some people call it meditation but don't worry don't be afraid of those big words all it means is doing one single task at a time and focusing on it so for example you're talking to someone only focus on the person don't be checking your phone at the time if you're drinking a glass of juice think about the glass of juice don't be looking at television at the same time so the goal is that in every activity that you do during the day do one thing at a time with full concentration and your mind starts getting trained to focus on the activity that is taking part in and they say more you sweat in peace the less you bleed in war the more you practice mindfulness and concentration in the little little things every day that attitude is going to carry with you to the high pressure situations of a heavy competitive exam you're going to be able to focus beautifully in that three-hour competitive exam without a problem how to increase your focus and concentration.

Tip 3: PASSION

tip number three is called passion now passion to like focus can be cultivated and I'm going to give you three quick ideas on how you can cultivate the passion the first thing that you need to do is don't start reading the textbook right away on a new chapter a new topic cover to cover text books are not thrillers they are boring so before we open that textbook how about we had an interesting higher level perspective on the topic that makes us super interested in actually reading a textbook so a couple of things you can do you can go to a Khan Academy video you can go to a Nat Geo video if that's what your subject area is you could also listen to podcasts and they sometimes give you this big picture interesting overview but the idea is first train your mind to first get interested in the topic and then open the textbook and again the textbook and finally for the three bonus tips that I had promised to give you an bonus tip number one is focus on fewer things yes a lot of people will tell you to write down all your priorities in A B and C and they'll tell you that go for the A priority right now try to do the B later and you know if you get some time look at your C priority but Warren Buffet's says that he writes down all his priorities into A B and C and he only goes for A he actively dissuade you from looking at a B and the C and he says those are the dis-tractors so Bill Gates says himself that the reason for success is because he focuses on fewer things bonus tip number two is that sometimes the reason we are not able to focus on our goal is because we haven't written down our goal clearly enough so how about we take a piece of paper and write down our goal very clearly in one month what is it that I want to achieve and bonus tip number three is called start saying no yes it is lot of people will tell you that you need to say yes to everything you need to be positive but I'm saying to you start saying no and this is in tandem with focus on fewer things when somebody comes up to you with an idea and chances are it's like hey this is so exciting how about I go ahead and do it tell the person let me think about it and I suggest sleep over that idea wake up the next morning and unless it is exactly in line with those 1 2 3 items that you had in your a priority list say no .

First Attempt :Score 300+ in BITSAT 2020 - Last month strategy

Score 300+ in BITSAT 2020- Last month strategy

BITSAT - Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test 2020 is one of the most prominent engineering entrance exam. Every year this exam is held online in month of May in different slots selected by students.

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani has announced the revised dates of the Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT 2020) on its official website. The BITSAT 2020 exam will now be conducted from August 6 to 10, 2020.

Earlier, BITSAT was scheduled to be held from May 16 to 25, 2020, but was postponed due to the Covid-19 lockdown.

First Attempt :Score 300+ in BITSAT 2020 -  Last month strategy Now here i will share you some tips to score 300+ score in BITSAT 2020 in your First attempt. First I would like to inform you 300+ Score in BITSAT is very decent score. If your BITSAT score is 300+  then definitely you will be eligible in one of the prestigious  BITS Campus.

First Attempt :Score 300+ in BITSAT 2020 -  Last month strategy

I will share here a very short trick to cover important topics for BITSAT

  1. CHEMISTRY

First, starting with easiest subject chemistry. For chemistry you should go through last chapters of  NCERT related to biology , medicines and environment. In your exam you will find lot of memory based questions on 5-6 chapters. Some topics like metallurgy and surface chemistry are also included in memory based topics. Numerical are formula based and easier as compared to JEE MAIN.

     2. PHYSICS

Physics is also a moderate section in BITSAT. Most of the questions are conceptual but easy you can easily answer it by observing choices. Most of the Numerical is formula based and some questions are complicated which you can attempt at last or even leave.

    3. MATHEMATICS

You may think that if physics and chemistry are easy in BITSAT then mathematics must be tough but mathematics is not that much tough you will find many questions on derivatives directly and most of the questions are from tangents and normals and even from conic section. I will advice you to leave tough integral questions you can utilize this time in reasoning and english section. Solve NCERT EXEMPLAR for practice.

   4. ENGLISH & REASONING

I will advice you to finish this section within 20-25 minutes. You will find it very easy and if your English vocabulary is good then you can score maximum marks in this section.

PRACTICE ONLINE :  At last  you should practice online test so that you will be able to manage time properly during exam and also analyse past year questions like which topics were frequently asked and which topic you need to practice more.

List of things to not do by students immediately after the lockdown ends

List of things to not do by students immediately after the lockdown ends

Most of you might be vehemently waiting for the lockdown to come to an end. You might be planning to meet your friends, going out for shopping or just paying a visit to the nearby salon. Well, it is better to continue taking the necessary precautions as life won’t suddenly return back to normal once the lockdown ends. You would still need to be careful and take care of your health, as the risk of contracting COVID-19 infection would be still there.
But as a student you might be staying away from your home. So you need to be more careful about your health. I know you all are very excited to hang out with friends.

List of things to not do by students immediately after the lockdown ends
  1.  Don't plan a trip
Just after the lockdown ends you might have planned a trip with your school or college friends. But you should not forget that crisis is not over yet. So just have some more patience and postpone your trip.

            2. Don't throw a huge party

We all are aware that we should avoid social gatherings during the pandemic. But may be for any event you are planning to throw a huge party and you are inviting friends and relatives but as we know crisis is not over yet so i request you to avoid any gathering for few months.

          3.  Don't stop washing hands

Again i will remind you crisis is not over yet. Whenever you go outside to attend coaching class ,school ,college or to buy stationary wash your hands for 20 seconds. Don't stop washing hands properly.

         4.  Always wear Mask

We all know that  mask is very helpful for us when we go outside. As a student you will also go outside to attend , school, college or coaching always wear a mask. You should also suggest your friends teachers to wear mask.

      5.  Don't throw mask at public places

As we know that "Prevention is better than cure" we should not throw face mask or homemade mask at public places to avoid any infection. As a responsible person whenever you see a person throwing infected things at public places stop them.

     6. Maintain your hygiene

Many of us may be staying away from home for education and definitely you will miss homemade food as we are at home from last 3 months. So you have to take care of yourself you need to maintain respiratory hygiene so avoid unhealthy food.

So these were some things which you should not do immediately after lock down ends . At last stay safe ,stay healthy.
